This is a story about a love that should not exist according to society – yet still this love is real.

Camille is a young and beautiful, colored woman and her parent’s pride. She studies and it’s clear that one day she’ll amount to much. Additionally she has a boyfriend who is just as perfect as she is herself. But this scenery of a perfect and happy life gets messed up when she meets Billy Ryan on her birthday. He is insistent, almost obstrusive,white, works at a gas station and actually Camille is not interested in him at all. Actually. The ambitious musician ekes out her friendship though, with charm and music and later he even conquers her heart. Everything looks promising for the young relationship … But then Calvin, Camilles actual boyfriend who just left town for a couple of days, pops the question when he gets back from his travels.

Now Camille faces a hard decision. Should she listen to what her heart says or what society expects of her? Should she go and marry Calvin to make everyone else happy or should she stay with Billy and make herself happy?

Christian Kane in this movie:

Christian is the young and ambitious blues musician Billy Ryan. Billy is persistent and knows exactly what he wants. He is also willing to work hard and fight for his goals. Well, for the girl, in this case. He is funny and charming and therefore simply a wonderful character.

For Christian Kane fans this is a sight for sore eyes ;) With his job at the gas station where he also fixes cars we are treated to some greasy, sweaty Christian Kane and we all know, girls love their boys just like that. Also the fact that he plays a musician is a bonus in this one. He only sings two songs, but it’s really worth hearing ;)

Plenty of emotions and music
It’s a cute and entertaining movie filled with nice and opposed characters. Camilles struggle to decide whether to follow her heart or her head is very obvious and contrasts strongly to Billy’s direct manner. He decides what to do on a gut level and doesn’t re-think every choice or decision 10 times.  Camille’s best friends do their part in the story, too. The movie tells the story of a young woman who has to learn on her way to reaching adulthood that she has to go her own way, in a colorful and emotional way.
