Whitney Duncan, for whom kane asked for support, reached the next round of 'Nashville Star' (Chris was present for the taping of the show)

And it looks quite good for our guys, too. They are on the top position of the voting for "Band of the year 2006" at "New Country Star". But their opponents are right behind them. So everyone who is able to vote every day because of changing IP : Keep on voting!!!

Happy New Year to you all! Writing and recording for the new CD is coming along great. 2007 is going to be a year of big challenges and opportunities for us all. We look forward to getting out to see some of you whom we have yet been unable to visit and turning on many more folks to KANE music.

It's voting time again… Over the past few years you all have stepped forward to show yourselves as a powerful force. Your support got KANE invited to play the main stage at Country Thunder USA and made KANE a 2-time winner of the New Country Star Best Band. Time to get out those computers and even telephones this time. Here are a couple more challenges...

New Country Star 2006 – Band of the Year Voting

New Country Star is looking to name the New Country Star of the Year and has reopened voting to do so. When they first started as a little website with a big heart, you all stepped up and made a big noise to spread the word for them and us. They've grown up quite a bit this year and a great way to cap it off would be to have KANE named the overall champ! Please vote for KANE as often as you can and encourage your friends and co-workers to do the same. Let's show them that we can still make some noise!

Nashville Star Season 5 – Whitney Duncan

In other news, Christian has been co-writing in Nashville with Whitney Duncan who is an amazing musician just named a finalist for the latest season of NASHVILLE STAR! This is a great opportunity for Whitney and we'd love for you to welcome her into our community by giving her your votes as she pursues the title. NASHVILLE STAR is a series on USA Television where the audience votes the winners. The show is underway and the first episode airs on Thursday, January 11th at 10pm (9pm Central/Mtn). If you have never seen the show, it'll give you a good idea of what life is like for singers and songwriters trying to catch a break. So check it out… maybe you'll see Christian or someone else you know cheering on Whitney or running around town… and then don't forget to VOTE for Whitney Duncan! (BTW – you can vote up to 10X and voting by phone is toll free)

Just a couple of days before the new year Kane brought a short update online...

Welcome to the end of the year everyone. Here is a quick update...

We enjoyed seeing those of you who made it to the acoustic gig at The Whisky in October. It looks like that will most likely be the last show this year. But that doesn't mean we've been on vacation.

1. Up front and center, Christian and Steve are currently writing and recording in Nashville and Los Angeles towards a major label debut CD. There is a lot of amazing stuff coming out of this and we hope to be able to share some nuggets with you in the near future.

2. In further news, Christian just got the news that a film he worked on earlier this year has been accepted into SUNDANCE for 2007! "Four Sheets to the Wind" has been accepted as one of 16 films in the prestigious Dramatic Competition from almost 1000 submissions. Let's hope this film gets even more of the recognition it deserves.

3. Finally, we have been promising you new merchandise and here it is... just in time for the Holiday Season. Check out the MERCH page for more info on new tees. Christian designed the "Seven Days Tee" after a vintage tee from back home. All tees are now boutique quality AMERICAN APPAREL TEES made 100% in the USA and Sweat-shop Free. More designs to come next year... Stay tuned for more info and keep looking for new music on our MySpace Page.

Ok, lets start with some fantastic news posted by KANE & BrandXmanagement on MySpace:

Hey all. Sorry for being away so long. After some wonderful dates in England and Germany in the early summer, KANE have been focusing on writing and recording for a new CD. As you know, you can hear some demos that might end up on that CD on MySpace at www.myspace.com/kanecountry. While you may have seen Chris or Steve pop up on stage various places the last few months, we've been laying low for the most part. That will soon be changing.

First off, KANE will be playing a special Acoustic Evening with some friends in LA at the historic Whisky A Go-Go on October 14th. Check out our website gigs page for info.

Secondly, we are going to be ramping up as we get ready for a new CD. That means merch reorder, more online info and pics, etc.

KANE around the World
One thing we would like to do is create a KANE Around the World gallery for the website. We need your help. Please send us your pictures from your home city or country that in some way feature KANE. For example, you might have yourself in a KANE t-shirt in front of the Taj Mahal in India if you lived in India. We will collect these and display the best of them on our website. Please send these to kaneteamers@aol.com.

KANE Banner Contest Update
Finally, we had mentioned in a MySpace bulletin that we need your help creating a banner for both the KANE website at www.kanemusic.com and the KANE MySpace at www.myspace.com/kanecountry. We received some really great entries, but still have not found exactly what we want. Here are some guidelines we should have mentioned before. 1. We'd like the banners to utilize the KANE logo but not feature any of the band members photos or likenesses. 2. We do want to stay with the theme of the band KANE, country music, and everything the band's music stands for. If you would like to re-enter the contest using those guidelines, we would love to receive some more new banner designs. Please send these to kaneteamers@aol.com .
